In two days I'll be on a plane on my way to New Zealand. I've been so busy with book stuff that I was surprised to find how close this day has come. I don't plan to work on the book (much) while I'm there, which means to keep on schedule I've been working day and night to get things stable and somewhat portable.
Behold: a bunch of drafts of the same diagram that will eventually be in the book. I've been drawing up diagrams of the more difficult techniques. Turns out the most difficult technique is drawing these confounded diagrams.
I eventually got this one sorted out, but it took me a day and half for ONE DRAWING. One. Bah. This particular series had only two drawings. The other one didn't put up a fight like this one. It will be worth it though.
One of my goals with this book is that it is self sufficient. I'd like the book to have all the information needed to complete the projects independent of the internet. Nothing is more disappointing than being stuck somewhere with a project that can't be completed without the internet's help. (Because inevitably you are out of internet range, the device's battery has died, or worse, the technique has no useful tutorials available.)

I suspect your book is going to be amazing. I think I would have reverted to photo tutorials!
I agree, you book is going to be amazing. Your diagrams look wonderful.
Also, wow, New Zealand! I look forward to seeing some photographs.
Audry. We need to talk. You are too much of a perfectionist. Those diagrams look fantastic! I'm confident that this book is going to be the most wonderful knitting book ever, you have put so much of yourself into it. I'm still looking forward to the day when I get to flip through it!
