Scooter Loves Design #9

I have been the most monogamous knitter I know for the last week and a half. And it is paying off. I'm knitting the last chart for Design #9. Although each round is over 400 stitches now, so I only get about two rounds knit per episode of Magnum P.I. I hope to be binding off in less than two weeks from now.

And for those of you who follow this blog regularly, I gave Scooter a hair cut earlier in the week. So he isn't as fuzzy as he was a few posts ago. Surprisingly, the house has just been covered with even more hair than usual. I think his long hair was locking in all of the short fur underneath. I even brushed a solid, hamster-sized ball of hair off of him after his hair cut and bath. It didn't help.
And I'll give you guys all one guess as to where Scooter insists on sitting now. Hint: He doesn't care if it's being knitted on or not.

Annual Shearing

Scooter got his annual haircut today. I only have energy for it once a year since it takes about 2 hours from start to finish. But he sure looks handsome now.
I had to say the word "treat" in order to get him to look more interested in having his picture taken.

While I was washing him, Mum looked into the backyard and thought that he was still outside. The fur pile was about as big as he is when he curls up.

After being washed and walked, Scooter was still a bit wild, so we played a round of "Find The Treat In The Grass." For being nine and a half years old, he still has a lot of energy.

And Now For Something Completely Different - 2KCBWDAY5

This post has more to do with fiber than with knitting.... and it will be presented as a poem.

Scooter was getting quite hairy.
The dust balls he left were quite scary.
I told him he had to be groomed.
He thought he was doomed.
And asked, "Will you please spare me?"

I told him, "No way, little dude."
You had better be in a good mood.
I'm going to use scissors and a brush.
Not the electric razor you hate so much.
And don't worry, I have food.

Scooter sat patiently as I cut.
Until I reached his butt.
He only got one bald spot or two.
I'm surprised it was that few.
He sure is a cute little mutt.

There was soft fur on his chin.
And right around his grin.
I saved most of his hair.
And separated it with care.
I will be using it to spin.
