Doing Battle

It seems like every design is a battle. As soon as I solve one problem, another arises. I thought I was on the home stretch with my current secret knitting, but then the design took a good swipe at me, so I'm not done. This isn't to say that I don't enjoy the challenge. Each design teaches me something new and I get faster with my problem solving. But I sure wish my current design would just be done already! I have some other things I'd like to be knitting.
En garde!

Does anyone else do battle with their creative endeavors?  What do you do when you've got a hard deadline and general frustration?

Best. Picture. Ever. You will finish your rival of a knitting pattern and it will be awesome! Hang in there, you can do it!

Awesome pic :-)

personally I don't have to deal with deadlines, or design, still in the process of struggling with knitting other peeps' designs...
but enough frustration there... now battling with some lace yarn ( frogging vs knitting : 2-0 now.. ;-P )
at such times I try to become all calm and quiet ( might need some long walk... ), as my frustration ( and mistakes ) are apt to get bigger when I'm all worked up.. put up some soothing music, have a nice cuppa and tell myself to knit on.. so that I can start on the next project sooner... ;-)

Oh my, yes! Design can be a constant battle, and it always seems as though the most insidious enemies crop up where I least expect them. However, it does allow me to flex my brain muscles and I always feel all the more satisfied after I've solved each problem. Good luck!

Ek....right now I'm fighting with several different projects. Usually I just let them sit for a while and work on something else. This gives me the time and space to work through my problems without doing any further damage to them and then I can come back with new great ideas!

You've got some fabulous suggestions from readers. My own personal trick is to look at precedent. If someone else has solved the problem you have, why not benefit from seeing how they did it? I find I often then tweak to suit my own purposes, but it does help to save a bit of time, and takes me away from looking at my knitting in annoyance for too long! Love your picture!

Looks like you're winning! BTW, rad social media badges in the sidebar there.

If I was as creative as you I may run into those problems. Instead I sit back and wait for talented peeps such as yourself to design something then I knit it! :)
