When Penmanship Was Romantic

Along with all the other projects I've been working on, I've been seriously considering getting a dip pen and trying my hand at letter writing. After looking at old family photographs, I realized how beautiful and difficult it was to write. There is a little added romance to writing done with a dip pen.
As I was researching pen nibs, I came across this image on wikipedia.

How fun would it be to write with a nib that is in the shape of a hand or eiffel tower? There is only two things that are really keeping me from this project. 1. I don't know who to write. 2. I don't know what to write. I suppose those are two very large barriers, but in my mind I am already blotting the excess ink off my paper.

Anyone want to be a pen pal? (Be warned, this could be a fleeting fancy.)
